The Danish Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Mr. Brian Mikkelsen, visits BWE

On 18 August 2011, Burmeister & Wain Energy A/S had the honour of welcoming the Danish Minister of Economic and Business Affairs, Mr. Brian Mikkelsen, to its offices in Kgs. Lyngby.

Mr. Claus Andreasson, COO, and Mr. Flemming Skovgaard Nielsen, Vice President of Engineering Division, gave the Minister a thorough introduction in BWE's advanced high performance, CO2 reducing, multi-fueled boiler technologies capable of combining fossil and biomass fuels in the boiler, reaching plant efficiencies over 47%. With a world average efficiency of approx. 30% on the coal fired power plants it is essential to use Best Available Technology (BAT) worldwide in order to lower the CO2 emissions and decrease the coal consumption. Denmark and BWE have a unique world position by having the world's most efficient fossil and biomass power plants in operation for many years and being able to provide this technology to the world market.

The Minister showed a great interest in BWE's products and capabilities within clean coal and multi-fuel technology, and was eager to discuss the export potentials as well as the problematic on how we can assure production of environmentally friendly energy and saving money at the same time.
