4 Low NOx Biomass Burners for
Herningværket

BWE has been awarded a contract from DONG Energy A/S for the design, supply, erection and commissioning of 4 burners for pulverised biomass (wood pellets) inclusive of pulverized fuel piping and the necessary modifications of the primary and secondary air systems to DONG Energy's plant, Herningværket. The boiler, originally supplied by BWE in 1982 as a coal fired unit, will after this last conversion be able to fire a total of 240 MW from biomass. The installation will take place during the summer outage of 2009.

Following the successful supply of burners for pulverized biomass to DONG Energy's Avedøreværket Unit 2 in 2002 and Vattenfall's Amagerværket Unit 1 in 2008, this contract establishes BWE's leading market position within this segment.
