BWE GGH for Edipower Centrale di San Filippo del Mela - FGD plant Unit 1-2

BWE has been awarded a contract from Termokimik Corporation for supply of a Gas-Gas Heater (GGH) to be installed at the San Filippo del Mela Power Station in Sicily, Italy. The GGH will be part of the environmental refurbishment of units 1 & 2 each of 160 MWe capacity and includes among others a new common FGD plant for the two units. The power station is owned and operated by Edipower.

The GGH will be of size 32.5 (14.66 m rotor diameter) and equipped with full leakage minimizing system and reheating the cleaned flue gases to above 100 °C before the emission through the stack.

The erection of the GGH is scheduled to start June 2008.
