Rehabilitation of air preheater
at Fynsværket

Vattenfall A/S has awarded BWE the contract for rehabilitation of the air preheater at Fynsværket unit 7. This Quad-sector air preheater with 16.9 m rotor diameter was originally supplied by BWE in 1990.

The boiler unit is now being retrofitted with a DeNOx plant (SCR) which requires a modification of the air preheater for the new operational conditions. This involves a complete set of new heating elements including a deep enamelled cold end layer. The air preheater will also be updated to newest BWE design with an advanced low leakage control system. All the works have to be completed during the summer outage 2007.
