Chiyoda Corporation (www.chiyoda-corp.com) has granted BWE/STF with the licence for the CT-121 FGD process on the European market. The agreement was signed in Copenhagen April 17, 2004.
The CT-121 FGD process is a 2'nd generation wet limestone process that combines low investments and operation costs with high efficiency and easy and reliable operation. The CT-121 technology has already been applied by BWE in Denmark at the Energi E2 owned Stigsnæs Power Station unit 2. The new FGD plant removes more than 98% of the sulphur in the flue gas from 265 MWe coal fired unit from 1970.
The European market for FGD installations is growing and will be driven by the implementation of the latest EU directive for large boilers that becomes effective from 2008.

Mr. E. Hoffmann-Petersen (BWE), Mr. A. Vismara (STF) and Mr. Y. Shirasaki (Chiyoda).
