Burmeister & Wain Energy a/s takes over power plant service from FLS miljø a/s

Five years after having acquired the leading Danish power plant supplier Burmeister & Wain Energy A/S, FLS miljø resold the company to the Italian industrial company STF SpA in June 2002.

Burmeister & Wain Energy A/S was hereby re-established as an independent Danish company, set to carry on its long traditions of a solid and visionary boiler design.

Today the new company concentrates on the development, sale and delivery of the Ultra Super Critical power plant boilers, which, at the power plants Avedøre, Nordjyllandsværket, and Skærbækværket, have proven to be the most efficient and energy-saving power plants in the world.

Beyond this, BWE works with reconstruction and improvement of existing boilers, as well as development and sale of burners, air-preheaters, heat exchangers, and dynamic classifiers for coal mills, - all together equipment which contributes to optimal operating conditions, economy and environmental impact of the power plants.

The company has just closed its first accounting year with a very satisfactory financial result, and accentuates this by taking over FLSmiljø’s department of power plant service. This department used to be an integrated part of BWE, however, due to a number of reasons, it was not included when taking over the other power plant activities.

With the takeover of the power plant service Burmeister & Wain Energy A/S has got the full supply program needed in order to manifest itself as a Danish and international supplier of leading power plant technology and service.
